Hadouken! - Liverpool Uni - 30/10/10

So tonight I shot Hadouken! ANOTHER shoot with no pit access. Thats 3 in just over 2 weeks! Not cool!

I managed to sneak and hide behind an amp on stage and shot the first three from there. It was the best place to shoot from given the circumstances, however it was a pretty bad place to shoot from. I couldn't see the drummer, guitarist or synth players on the other side of the stage/hidden behind a wall to the left of me. I could only really get shots of the lead singer/guitarist closest to me, bit of a nightmare. The guitarist was in the way for most of the time when I was trying to get photos of the lead singer.

The lighting was pretty crap, lots of strobing and smoke machines making it hard to see the band whilst they were on stage.

Hello!

Sorry it's been so long since my last blog, I've had a pretty hectic past two weeks.

First off I shot the Manic Street Preachers and British Sea Power at the Liverpool Uni - You can see them HERE

Manic Street Preachers

After the Manics I shot the Charlatans and Shaun Ryder. You can see the set HERE

The Charlatans

Then there was a shoot with the underground hip hop legend, the man in the mask DOOM (Aka MF DOOM). You can see the set HERE

The day after I had a shoot with Brandon Flowers. It's not often people are granted a photo pass for Brandon Flowers/The Killers and I was one of two photographers to be given a pass on his UK tour. There was no pit access and I had to shoot from in the crowd whilst getting hounded by his management, crew and even tour photographer for being 'too close to the stage' even though I was in the crowd. I have watermarked these photos due to the fact about being only one of two photographers and so I don't want them to be robbed. You can see the photos HERE

A few days later I was shooting Crystal Castles from on stage. It was the worst lighting I've ever shot in and it was such a difficult shoot. You can see the set HERE

Crystal Castles

Two days later I was down in London photographing KT Tunstall and Slow Club at the Shepherds Bush Empire. I love KT Tunstall, she's an amazing performer and such a nice person. The Shepherds Bush Empire is such a great venue. There was 15 photographers in the pit for her, thats the most I've ever been in the pit with! It was a struggle but I loved every second of it. KT put on such a great show, hopefully I will get the chance to see her again soon. You can see the set HERE

On the 2nd of October I was in Manchester to shoot Mumford & Sons.

It was a great show and after I had shot them I was able to watch the rest of the gig from the sound desk with my friend Ed who was doing the lighting for them...which was amazing!

After Mumford & Sons I went to shoot Kelis at the Warehouse Project in Manchester.

She was late on stage (diva) but she did put on a good show and the lighting was so much better this week, compared to last week with Maximo Park.
